CAP HENRY AND HOOSIER TIRE CORPORATION INK DEAL
17 November 2006
“Tire testing for the new Hoosier Kart Tire”
Bellevue, Ohio – November 6, 2006 – 16 year old 305 sprint car, micro sprint and kart racer Cap Henry has inked a deal with Hoosier Tire Corporation to tire test for the company during the indoor winter season. The talented competitor will begin testing of the Hoosier indoor karting tire in the Ohio Indoor Kart Racing Series in November.
"I am excited to help Hoosier Tire as they move into the karting ranks in a big way,” explained Cap Henry. “I hope my teams experience indoors can help Hoosier develop a competitive and winning product. I would like to thank Adam Batton of the Hoosier Tire Corporation for this exciting opportunity."
The young driver is teaming up with engine builder and driver Seth Schneider as he returns to the Ohio Indoor Kart Racing series beginning November 19, 2006. Caphenryracing.com hopes the alliance may pay bigger dividends as he will also be racing the Henry MotorSports 600cc micro sprint car this winter in the Rumble Series, as well as preparing for his second full season in a sprint car action in 2007.
In Cap’s ’06 rookie season, the sophomore high school student showed flashes of brilliance as he competed with the sprint cars top driver’s. Working his way into the A main and eventually the lead pack was the goal for the season and Cap proved by the third event that he was on pace to exceed his rookie season goals.
“Last year was my rookie season in the 305 sprint car,” expressed the well spoken driver. “I learned a lot about car setup, working with your crew and racing against the best the Midwest has to offer. I took that knowledge back to the karting ranks in the last half of the season and did well there. I am looking forward to bringing my experience and knowledge to the Hoosier Tire tests and hope to help them produce a great product.”

CAP HENRY SCORES THREE TOP TEN RESULTS IN WEEKENDS KARTING ACTION
17 November 2006
“Cap’s karting season ends on a high note”
Bellevue, Ohio – September 19, 2006 – Cap Henry wrapped up the summer karting season by competing in the 15th annual Clyde Grand Prix, the longest running street race in Ohio. The young tiger has 4 victories in three different classes at this event in just 7 years, though this year no further victories would be added.
The weekend started with competition in the McGee – Lein 4cyle kart in the mixed class. Even a 50 lb. weight advantage was unable to help Cap to run with the more powerful overhead valve World Formula motors. Cap made the best of the situation, and his driving alone helped him to finish in the top ten, coming home in the 7th position. Cap had a tough battle after starting in P8 as he dropped back initially as the World Formula motored karts took advantage of there low end torque and dominated in the early going.
The next class of the weekend would be the Yamaha super can class, the second fastest of the event. Cap Henry and team went into this class with high hopes as they had the pole position, though practice had shown that their motor may not have the top end needed for the half mile course. Cap ran in the top three for the first two laps and then settled in his eventual finishing position of 5th. Overall the team was pleased, as this was the second top ten finish of the day.
The last class of the weekend would be the Yamaha Pipe class, the fastest class of the weekend. With only one kart the Elite collision backed team had to practice with their can motor giving them no idea what would happen when the pipe was added. To their great surprise the motor came alive with the pipe. Cap would be forced to start in the tenth position but with heads up driving and staying out of trouble, the talented driver worked his way through the field to come home with another top five result.
Cap and the Cap Henry Racing Team will begin to prepare for the indoor winter karting season, as well as the Rumble in the dome in the Micro 600 to keep his skills sharp for next season.

CAP HENRY CONTINUES TO BUILD MOMENTUM
17 November 2006
Bellevue, Ohio – September 7, 2006 – Cap Henry and the Cap Henry Racing Team come off two strong weekends of results at the Sandusky Speedway 1st annual Asphalt Sprint Car Nationals and the Fremont Speedway Dirt Invitational. These two events are the biggest offered for the 305 Sprint Cars in the Midwest at this time and Cap was right in the thick of the action.
The HMC Ltd. backed team invaded Sandusky Speedway on August 25-26th weekend for the 1st Annual Sprint Car Nationals. Friday night the teams qualified under the lights for Saturdays racing action. Cap was one of the early qualifiers and was able to hold the 2nd quick time until the 4th session began. The 4th session relegated Cap down the qualifying order but did give him his first pole position for his heat race on Saturday. The Elite collision driver took advantage of this situation and powered away from the field, leading by almost half a lap when the checkers flew. This finish with the inversion would find the talented youngster starting 4th for the 40 lap main event. 40 laps would mean the teams would have to manage tire wear, as the longest any of these teams had run at speed had been 25 laps.
Cap and crew chief Keith Whaley sat down and discussed strategy, the goal would be to run in the top 10 if possible, and then make a push from lap 20 on. The race began as expected with some of the drivers pushing very hard very early, and on lap 3 five cars piled up on the back straight in front of the Cap who used his head and squeezed through the melee to find him running in the top 5. After clearing the track it began to sprinkle, though the track personnel were determined to try and get the event run. The green flag came out as the rain began to fall harder and on lap 5 while running in the 7th position Cap decided the track had become to dangerous to run at speed and pulled off as the other cars proceeded to slide around for 2 more laps before the red flag was shown. The race was rescheduled for the following weekend which would make it tough for the Henry MotorSports team to attend due to the 305 Invitational that was scheulded for the same weekend.
On Sunday September 3rd Cap and his team would find themselves at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. The event was the 305 Invitational which is the largest payday of the year for the dirt racers in that division. 46 cars were on hand to try and make the 22 car A-main. The Mintz Motorsports team was on hand for the crewing chores, and Cap looked good right out of the trailer in hot laps. Qualifying for the first time on dirt did not go as the team had hoped as motor gremlins returned. Cap managed to pull through and qualify 15th running on 7 cylinders.
Starting 14th in the B-main having qualified fast enough to miss the C-main, would make it tough as only 6 would make the transfer. What can only be described as Cap coming of age as a dirt driver found the 16 year old driving like seasoned veteran. Cap waited two laps for the field to sort out, and then he began to strategically pick himself through the field. He sliced through in and out of cars making it to 8th position before the red flag fell with three laps to go due to a horrendous flip in corner one. Unfortunately the red flag found the rear tires sealing over, and breaking the momentum Cap had built up. The restart found the car stuck where it was at coming home 9th to end his evening.
The next two weekends find the driver back in his Yamaha powered AR-1 First Kart for a special event at Fremont Raceway Park, and then the 15th annual Clyde Street Grand Prix
